Point of Rental Software Announces Investment from Accel-KKR

Partnership with technology-focused investment company supports the company's next phase of growth and continued innovation in rental performance.

Point of Rental Software, the leader in rental performance systems, today announced a strategic investment from Accel-KKR, a technology-focused investment firm.

CEO Wayne Harris remains a significant owner and will continue to lead the company with its current leadership team. The investment succeeds Susquehanna Growth Equity (SGE), which has partnered with Point of Rental since 2021. Point of Rental has grown significantly under Harris’ leadership.

The partnership gives Point of Rental added capital and operating expertise to invest faster in the areas customers have asked for most: AI-powered agents that take routine work off rental teams, better digital experiences for their customers, deeper intelligence through Rental Intelligence Suite, and continued innovation of its core rental platforms.

"My vision for Point of Rental has always been to help rental businesses run better, and that has not changed," said Wayne Harris, CEO of Point of Rental. "Accel-KKR understands software and shares our view that the rental industry is ready for a step change in technology. With their support, we can move faster on AI agents built specifically for rental, digital customer experiences, Rental Intelligence, and the products our customers rely on every day. I'm excited about what this lets us build."

"We are excited to partner with the Point of Rental team as the company enters its next phase of growth," said Andrew Zbella, managing director at Accel-KKR. "Point of Rental has built a strong foundation of industry expertise and a track record of helping customers achieve peak performance from their rental businesses. The company's ongoing innovation, including AI-powered tools within Rental Intelligence Suite, continues to position the company well to help customers make smarter decisions, improve operating performance, and get more value from their assets."

Founded in 1982, Point of Rental builds rental performance systems designed to help rental businesses improve every part of their operation—from managing assets and rental transactions to engaging customers, empowering employees, and making better business decisions. Today, the company serves more than 6,000 rental businesses in more than 80 countries across a broad range of rental markets, including heavy equipment, general tool, party and event, aerial and access, and specialty rental.

For more than 40 years, Point of Rental has continued to evolve its technology and services to help rental businesses improve performance. That next evolution includes Rental Intelligence Suite and a growing set of AI-powered agents designed specifically for rental. By combining artificial intelligence and machine learning with deep rental expertise and decades of rental performance data, Point of Rental is building technology that can not only help customers make better decisions, but increasingly take routine work off their teams.

What this means for customers

Point of Rental Software will continue to operate under the same leadership team, account managers, and support contacts, the company said. Existing contracts and service agreements also will not change. The company promises faster delivery of new capabilities, including AI-powered tools built for rental.

Harris also thanked SGE for its contributions to the company.

"SGE was a great partner during an important period of growth for Point of Rental," he said. "I'm grateful for their support of our team and our customers."
