Rehlko New Command PRO 888 is Designed for Commercial Users
Rehlko strengthens its position in the gasoline turf engine industry with the launch of the new Command PRO 888, building on more than a century of tradition in engine innovation. With an 888 cc displacement, the Command PRO 888 represents the next generation of Rehlko’s carbureted gasoline engines. Available in two distinct versions—the CV829 and CV832—the Command PRO 888 is purpose-built to meet the demands of commercial users. With a focus on maximizing uptime and reducing maintenance costs, the engine delivers the highest net power in its class while requiring less installation space, the company said.
The Command PRO 888 delivers up to 32 net horsepower and 53 foot-pounds of torque in a compact design. The engine also features a governor response, ensuring rapid power delivery with a new mechanical governor system. This makes the Command PRO 888 a solution for applications requiring instantaneous power and reliability.
Versatile solution for diverse applications
The Command PRO 888 engine is engineered to power a broad range of commercial ride-on and stand-on mowers. Its compact size and drop-in replacement capability is designed for OEMs to integrate the engine into existing designs or new installations, offering a power solution without extensive redesigns.
Landscaping professionals will benefit from the Command PRO 888’s robust engineering, giving them the confidence to tackle tough jobs without compromising on performance or durability. The engine’s extended maintenance intervals significantly reduce downtime, resulting in maximum productivity and profitability. The Command PRO 888 ensures low cost of ownership over its lifespan, the manufacturer says, minimizing repair expenses and maximizing time in the field.
A new chapter
The Command PRO 888 is the first engine introduced under the Rehlko brand following the company’s rebranding from Kohler Energy. On September 17, Kohler Energy announced its transformation into Rehlko, marking a new era of innovation and agility for the company. This transition follows the completion of a transaction in May 2024, when Platinum Equity acquired Kohler Energy as a stand-alone business. Platinum Equity now holds majority ownership of Rehlko, with Kohler Company remaining an investment partner. This transition underscores Rehlko’s commitment to delivering innovative and resilient energy solutions for mission-critical infrastructure, facilities, and residences.
Rehlko designs, builds, and maintains a comprehensive range of diesel, gasoline, hybrid and alternative fuels engines up to 140 hp of power – adopted globally by machine and equipment manufacturers in the most important sectors of industry (construction, earth-moving, agriculture, generators and landscaping). Formerly operating under the Kohler brand, the company has now rebranded under its new corporate name Rehlko to embrace its future as an independent entity.
Rehlko’s portfolio of businesses includes Engines, Power Systems, Home Energy, Kohler Uninterruptible Power, Clarke Energy, Heila Technologies and Curtis Instruments.
