Lowe’s Home Improvement is expanding its tool rentals departments to more Charlotte-area stores. Lowe’s launched its Lowe’s Tool Rental in August at Charlotte’s South End store. Now the company is expanding the program to four more stores in the area, according to the Charlotte Observer.
The Rock Hill store opened its tool rental department this week. By early next year, Lowe’s plans to open tool rental departments in Fort Mill, S.C.; Gastonia, N.C.; and Concord, N.C.
Lowe’s Home Improvement is based in Mooresville, N.C.
The rental department includes commercial-grade equipment from Husqvarna, Bosch, Metabo and other brands. Reservations check-in and check-out can be made online or at an in-store kiosk.
The rental departments are about 4,000 square feet and include newly constructed spaces expanding the Lowe’s store or separate buildings on store property.
The departments also include a mechanics shop, onsite cleaning and product demonstration areas. Protective equipment and commercial-grade cleaning solutions also are available for purchase.
