Trystar, a leader in electrical testing, control, and conveyance products, has introduced a 12,000-amp common bus enclosed in a NEMA-3R enclosure to facilitate power distribution from multiple paralleled generators used to support large-scale events and facilitate industrial facility maintenance and service outages.

“The new enclosed single common bus design provides up to 64 600MCM termination points per phase and neutral and 32 600MCM termination points per ground. It's perfect for distributing power across large construction sites," said Trystar marketing manager Charlie Raasch. "It can also feed multiple downstream panels, equipment, and transformers, which you might find at a large entertainment venue."

The common bus is also designed to be portable, durable, and put into service quickly. The standard 78-inch width makes it easy to transport by semi-trailer, and Integral skid pockets and bolt-on lifting eyes make it easy to move and place. Access from four sides facilitates quick and easy wiring for setup and disconnect. The portability and easy hookups make it suitable for use in multiple locations because it is easy to pack out and move, thereby accelerating service and productivity. A NEMA-3R enclosure and powder coat finish increases durability and optimum performance by resisting dust, debris, and weather-related conditions.

“The 12,000-amp enclosed common bus is currently the largest unit we make," said Rassch. "But we can also make it available in lower voltage and amperage configurations. Trystar is vertically integrated, so we make critical cabinet and mechanical components in-house. This helps us minimize lead time and enhance quality, even for custom applications. We can even powder coat it in a customer’s choice of color.”

The common bus enclosure features vented side panels to reduce internal temperatures for maximum loads without an auxiliary fan. An integrated bottom rake deters cable theft, and locking latch doors help ensure continuous operation by limiting tampering and unauthorized disconnection. The slanted roof helps prevent water intrusion in robust conditions.
