Houston Tents & Events Grows Power & HVAC Division with Acquisition of 3 Phase Rentals
Houston Tents & Events has acquired 3 Phase Rentals, one of Houston’s most trusted names in portable power and HVAC services. The move solidifies HTE’s reputation as the region’s fastest-growing event rental provider while expanding its ability to deliver large-scale event infrastructure and emergency response solutions. The acquisition fuels HTE's development in the power rental business.
HTE has experienced rapid growth in recent years, earning recognition as one of the fastest-growing organizations in the Southwest Region by Inc. in 2024 and ranking as Houston’s 25th fastest-growing company by Houston Business Journal. The company continues to build its reputation as a full-service event rental provider, solidified by its recent acquisitions of A Finer Event in 2024 and now 3 Phase Rentals, creating a one-stop shop for event rentals in Houston.
With more than 35 years of experience, Mike Rape has built a reputation as a provider in power and climate control for live events. Now, he joins HTE’s growing power division, bringing his expertise alongside his son, Carter Rape, who has been named director of power solutions. Together, they will lead the division, ensuring the same high standards of service and reliability that have made 3 Phase Rentals a trusted name in the industry.
“With 3 Phase Rentals joining our family, we’re taking our power and HVAC services to the next level,” HTE chief operating officer Darren Randle said. “Mike and his team have been the gold standard in event power for years, and we’re proud to bring their expertise under the HTE umbrella. Whether it’s a high-profile event, a corporate activation, or critical emergency response, we’re now better equipped than ever to provide seamless, reliable solutions.”
The addition of 3 Phase Rentals enhances HTE’s ability to support municipalities, corporations and nonprofit organizations with power and climate solutions for major events.
A growing power source
Founded in 2008 as a family-owned business servicing the temporary power needs of the entertainment industry, 3 Phase Rentals quickly grew from a small, two-person operation into one of Houston’s leading power solutions providers. The company has expanded beyond temporary power to offer generators, power distribution, HVAC services, technical labor, and preventative equipment maintenance for events, construction sites, and emergency response operations.
“3 Phase Rentals has always been about delivering rock-solid power solutions for Houston’s biggest events,” Rape said. “By joining Houston Tents & Events, we’re gaining the resources, reach and momentum to do even more. I couldn’t be more excited about what’s ahead.”
As HTE continues its trajectory of rapid growth, the acquisition of 3 Phase Rentals reinforces its commitment to innovation, operational excellence and long-term industry leadership. The company is known as one of Houston’s top portable power and HVAC companies.
