For the first quarter of 2019, Haulotte Group achieved its best quarter activity in the past 10 years, with consolidated sales of €163.2 million compared with €137.5 million for the same period the previous year, an increase of 18.7 percent.

In North America, revenue grew 20 percent, driven by a sharp rebound in scaffolding activity. The aerial work platforms business grew 4 percent, in a market that was slightly down at the beginning of the year.

In Europe, with slight regional market growth, Haulotte Group continued to increase sales, with a 20-percent increase, driven by improvements in most countries, except Great Britain, Haulotte said.

Haulotte continued its momentum from previous quarters in Latin America, enabling it to post a 21 percent increase in sales, driven mainly by Brazil.

However, the Asia-Pacific region experienced a more contrasting situation, down by 3 percent, affected by a slowdown in the Middle East and more particularly in Turkey, offset by the increase in activity observed in Australia.

Overall, equipment sales activity was up 19 percent compared with the first quarter of 2018. Services activity grew by 4 percent and the rental business by 10 percent (Haulotte operates a rental business in several markets).

This good start to the year allows Haulotte Group to confirm its sales growth forecast of around 10 percent for 2019.
