Volvo Penta showcased its battery energy storage subsystem (BESS) in Munich at ees Europe 2025. The Volvo Penta BESS subsystem is a modular, scalable and robust platform built on Volvo Group battery technology, already in use in trucks and construction equipment. The system is designed for OEM integration and rapid deployment in high energy-consumption applications.

The subsystem includes energy dense battery packs, battery management system, DC/DC unit, monitoring system, and thermal management system with radiators. It also features integrated electrical safety, DC and CAN interfaces, all designed for integration. With the full support from Volvo Penta’s global service network, it provides a reliable foundation for electrification, the company says.
