Subaru Robin

Subaru Robin introduces a new line of compact gasoline generators powered by its EX series overhead cam engines. The new generator models include the RGX2900, RGX3600, RGX4800 and RGX4800E, offering maximum outputs ranging from 2,900 watts to 4,800 watts. The generators are powered by engines in the 6-hp to 9-hp range. The generators are lighter and smaller than previous models because of the compact design of the EX engine. All RGX generators include a standard anti-icing feature, which draws air warmed by the engine into a tube and redirects it to the air intake. In cold weather conditions, the warm air inhibits ice buildup on the air intake and helps prevent the generator from shutting down when it is needed most. A low-tone arrestor muffler reduces the generators' sound output.

Yanmar's YDG model generators deliver non-fluctuating portable diesel power in 2,700-, 3,700-, and 5,000-watt ratings. A single tank of diesel will keep the direct-injected, air-cooled diesel gensets on the go for up 15 hours, depending on load factors. Yanmar's LV Tier 2 air-cooled diesel engines have parts and service support available throughout the Americas. Auto-return decompression allows for starts in all conditions, even below zero-degree conditions. Users can choose between 110-volt, 240-volt or 12-volt DC. Optional electric start is available on all three models of the series.

Ingersoll Rand

Ingersoll Rand's PowerSource mobile generator line includes six generators, G10 to G125, ranging from 10 kVA to 125 kVA. The company has reduced the footprint on the generators by up to 30 percent from some previous models. PowerSource generators are also lighter than their predecessors, making them easier to move around the jobsite, the company says. Featuring low noise signatures, the units are designed for night work and other noise-sensitive applications. The generators feature environmental skidbases that provide a minimum 110 percent containment of all generator fluids, which promotes safer worksites and minimizes the potential for environmental contamination. Should fluids collect in the basin, a warning indicator immediately alerts operators to the condition. The high-capacity fuel tank is sized for 24-hour operation.

Miller Electric Mfg.

Miller Electric Mfg. introduces its Bobcat 250 diesel engine-driven welding generator. Powered by a 3-cylinder, liquid-cooled Kubota diesel engine that produces 19 hp at 3,600 rpm, the Bobcat 250 diesel offers a fully enclosed case, tough protective armor on the front panel and an Accu-rated 10,000 watts of useable peak generator power. The Kubota engine features two standard shutdowns: low oil pressure and high coolant temperature. New meters for maintenance monitor and display engine shutdown conditions, engine hours and oil-change interval. Low-fuel shutdown makes restarts easy because the diesel engine will shut down before the engine runs out of fuel. Compared to the previous model, a new 12-gallon fuel tank enables an additional four hours of work before refueling on a typical welding job.
