Paper equipment pre-checks may soon be a thing of the past.

Trackunit released its IrisX-powered inspection platform, giving contractors and rental companies a digital way to complete the document equipment safety inspection before machines are put to work.

Using the Trackunit On app, operators complete a guided, machine-specific inspection before each shift. Every inspection is verified, time-stamped and permanently recorded, creating a digital record tied to both the operator and the specific machine, according to a company press release.

"Contractors need proof that every asset on site is safe and compliant before it starts work. Trackunit Inspections gives them that proof, built in automatically, shift by shift, across every site,” said Fred Rio, senior vice president of product at Trackunit.

If an issue is identified, operators can upload photos and notes directly through the app, alerting managers to potential problems before a machine is placed into service.

The platform combines digital inspection records with live machine health data, giving fleet managers real-time visibility into inspection status and allowing them to identify equipment that should be serviced before heading to a jobsite.

For rental companies, the system provides a clear record of the equipment’s condition at pickup and return should damage be identified. Contractors benefit from audit-ready digital safety documentation that supports compliance and equipment management.
