MEC Aerial Work Platforms announces the launch of its newest innovation in mast lifts. Drawing on the success of the MME (MEC Mast Electric) series, MEC engineers were challenged to develop the company’s first all-electric mast – the MMAE16.
The new eco-friendly mast has a compact design and eliminates the potential risk of an oil leak for environmentally safe applications because there is zero hydraulic oil. With all-electric lift, steer, and drive, the MMAE16 delivers optimal battery duty cycle while requiring less charge time and delivers more up time with no compromise to performance.
At an indoor working height of 22 feet and 18 feet outdoors, the new mast is designed for data centers, hospitality, food, and pharmaceutical applications. Along with being lightweight at 2,170 pounds and low ground pressure, the machine is designed for standard elevators and utilization across a wide range of floor types.
At 78 inches tall and with no folding rails, it can get through standard door frames. Like the MME Series, the new mast comes with a standard glide out deck extension of 20 inches to reach difficult areas.
“MEC stays true to our mission of A Better Solution in everything we do, and this is a strong confirmation for delivering an all-electric machine and eliminating the potential of hydraulic leaks,” said Gary Crook, vice president of engineering.
The MMAE16 will have a significant impact on the market’s drive for lower emissions and eco-friendly solutions. Along with being all-electric, the new mast will deliver a better cost of ownership for rental companies and increased productivity for their customers.
MEC's portfolio of MEWPs ranges from direct electric drive slab scissors and vertical masts to rough terrain scissors and booms with patented and award-winning design features.
