MEC Aerial Work Platforms received the 2023 IAPA Product of the Year in Scissor Lifts and Vertical Mast Platforms for the MMAE16 (MEC Mast All-Electric 16 Foot). The IAPA (International Award for Powered Access) is recognized as a prestigious award in the powered access industry. Judges commented that MEC’s new vertical-mast technology is a combination of direct electric drive, electric linear actuator steer, electric actuator lift with electric release holding brake delivering great energy efficiency and zero possibility of hydraulic oil leaks.

The award-winning eco-friendly mast has a compact design and eliminates the potential risk of an oil leak for environmentally safe applications because of zero hydraulic oil. With all-electric lift, steer, and drive, the MMAE16 delivers sustainability applications while requiring less charge time and achieves more up time with no compromise to performance. At an indoor working height of 22 feet and 18 feet outdoors, the new mast is designed for data centers, hospitality, food, and pharmaceutical applications.

Along with being lightweight at 2,170 pounds, and low ground pressure, the machine is suited for standard elevators and utilization across a wide range of sensitive floor types. At 78 inches tall and with no folding rails, it is easy to get through standard door frames. Like the rest of the MME Series, the MMAE16 mast comes with a standard glide out deck extension of 20 inches to make it easier to reach difficult areas.

The MMAE16 has already provided a positive impact on the market’s drive for lower emissions and eco-friendly solutions. Along with being all-electric the MMAE16 will deliver a better cost of ownership for rental companies and increase productivity for their customers.
