MSA recently acquired General Monitors, a leading innovator and developer of fixed systems for gas and flame detection. With this acquisition, MSA significantly strengthens its position in the global oil, gas and petrochemical markets by adding a highly recognized and respected brand of detection systems to a complementary MSA product line, the company said.

General Monitors provides combustible gas, toxic gas, and flame detection monitoring products. It is based in Lake Forest, Calif.

Headquartered in Pittsburgh, MSA is a manufacturer and supplier of safety products, including self-contained breathing apparatus, gas masks, gas detection instruments, head protection, ballistic body armor, fall protection devices and thermal imaging cameras.
