Herc Entertainment Services Joins Partnership with Toronto Film Production Studio
Herc Entertainment Services, a division of Herc Rentals, has joined in a partnership with Cinelease and Studio Toronto to offer equipment rentals, lighting and other related services at a renovated 300,000-square foot film studio, The Hollywood Reporter reported. The studio complex has 10 soundstages and has been rebranded as Studio Toronto.
HBO and Netflix are two of the major U.S. film production companies that rented soundstages this summer to produce original films.
Increased streaming has created greater demand for studio space, especially in Toronto, a city popular with filmmakers. In addition to Studio Toronto, Downsview Studios has a new studio in Toronto with eight soundstages, with an additional site at a converted airplane hangar.
Both Herc Entertainment Services and Cinelease are business units of Herc Rentals.
