Target Rental, Durango, Colo., has opened a new rental center in Cortez, Colo., its website reports. Target also operates Bobcat of Durango & Cortez, Colo. Target acquired Bobcat of Durango in 2011.

The new rental center is located at 1480 Industrial Road in Cortez. Local newspaper The Journal reported that the branch has a staff of five with three new hires.

The rental fleet includes excavators, skid steers, man lifts, shooting boom forklifts, farm tractors and implements, cement mixers, ground thaw heaters, compaction equipment, and wood chippers.

Target also carries smaller rental equipment and rental tools for homeowners and remodelers, including concrete saws and breakers, air compressors, flooring tools, plumbing and electrical tools, landscaping equipment and scaffold equipment.

The shop sells a variety of construction and safety supplies and dispenses propane to contractors and weekend barbecuers.

In response to the coronavirus pandemic, store manager Steve Webb has organized a food drive from May 1-22 to help families. Target Rental will match $1 for every canned good or dollar donated up to $5,000.

In addition, the Cortez Target Rental plans to donate 15% of rental fees on one of their new excavators to a local charity. The organization’s logo would be put on the excavator.

Webb added that the business adheres to state guidelines to prevent the coronavirus. Staff wear facial masks, machines are disinfected before they go out and after they return, and the shop is regularly cleaned.
