Hitachi Global Air Power, an industry leader in innovative compressed air solutions since 1965, is bringing its next generation of electric portable air compressors to ConExpo 2026 in Las Vegas. The company will showcase how the portfolio delivers superior performance while helping rental and construction customers reduce operating costs and meet evolving sustainability expectations.

“Innovation for us starts with listening to our customers,” said Hideki Fujimoto, president and CEO of Hitachi Global Air Power. “We’re expanding our portfolio of reliable, durable, and high performing electric portable air compressors to meet a wide range of customer needs. At the same time, we continue to invest in and advance our diesel offerings to ensure we have the right solution for today’s applications and tomorrow’s demands.”

As part of the company’s new era of innovation, the Sullair E1035H was unveiled at the 2023 ConExpo. The unit featured many patent-pending elements, including swing-out coolers for easy cleaning and maintenance and condensate management technology, which helps eliminate the need for additional disposal equipment. The compressor was also designed for better user safety and with the Sullair-exclusive Electronic Spiral Valve (ESV), providing superior efficiency.

Hitachi Global Air Power launched the first electric portable air compressor in 1979; the operating, refurbished compressor, with more than 53,000 operating hours will be on display at ConExpo. The company carried forward much of the advanced technology found in the Sullair E1035H into the smaller Sullair E425H in 2025. The E425H offers 425 CFM at 150 psi of compressed air power for customers in the rental and construction markets for a wider range of applications.

Also in 2025, Hitachi Global Air Power launched the Sullair OFE1550 oil free electric portable air compressor expanding its electric and proven oil free air power expertise. The OFE1550 delivers 1550 CFM at 125 PSI of Class 0 oil free air - ideal for applications such as oil and gas and as bac up plant air in any application where air purity is critical. Like its predecessors, the OFE1550 boasts customer-forward features including easy maintenance, a simple start-up with the Wye-Delta starter, and enhanced safety by keeping electric connections and discharge components away from the operator. It also features a smart auto-lubrication system that automatically delivers the ideal amount of lubrication to the motor, maximizing performance and protecting against premature wear.

“Our customers are facing rising energy and operating costs and tighter emission and sustainability requirements,” said Jerel Cole, global portable product manager at Hitachi Global Air Power. “Our next generation electric air compressors were developed to meet real operational demands – delivering the performance and air power our customers expect while helping them to operate more efficiently and responsibly.”

Showcase Event & Presentation

Hitachi Global Air Power will host a product showcase and presentation highlighting the business case for electric portable air compressors, including sustainability benefits and customer insights, at the Sullair booth at the 2026 ConExpo show on March 3 at 3:00 p.m. The event will include remarks from Roger Adkins, vice president air compressor business manager at Ring Power, a customer and co-innovator of the Sullair E1035H.

“For us, working with Hitachi Global Air Power to develop electric portable compressed air solutions was about solving real world challenges in direct response to our customers,” Adkins says. “It’s not just about performance anymore, it’s the total package: reliability, performance, efficiency, and sustainability. Our customers are asking, and we are happy to help deliver the solutions they need to get the work done.”

As a Hitachi Ltd. business unit, Hitachi Global Air Power shares Hitachi’s goal of building a carbon neutral value chain by 2050. The new line of electric portable compressors supports this goal while delivering high-performing, efficient air power solutions in response to customer demand.

Headquartered in Michigan City, Ind., Hitachi Global Air Power’s compressed air solutions power manufacturing operations all around the globe; from food and beverage, to pharmaceuticals and computer chips. Our portable compressors provide the air power to build roads and bridges, lay pipelines and aid in oil and gas, mining and production.
