In response to widespread power outages the past few years caused by hurricanes, Generac Power Systems is offering a suite of new resources to help business owners and homeowners to prepare as the 2019 hurricane season begins.

Generac began the program early in May along with National Hurricane Preparedness Week May 5-11. Its website is offering a hurricane guide, a power outage assessment to determine each user's level of preparedness, and other information to keep homes and businesses safe.

"Recent reports show a huge number of people are unprepared for a natural disaster," said Russ Minick, chief marketing officer, Generac. "It is critical to prepare in advance for the power outages that accompany major storms and we are trying to help as many people as possible with our new tools."

The Generac 2019 hurricane guide provides detailed information about new hurricane rating systems, a useful overview of weather terms that businesses and homeowners need to understand, and a checklist with tips on how to prepare throughout the year. The online preparedness assessment helps users quickly determine their level of preparedness knowledge in a fun and engaging format. The Generac Power Outage Central is the hub to find all outage information from every state in the country. Finally, Generac.com features storm preparedness articles and offers a wealth of information on backup power options.
