Terex AWP announced John Chandler is rejoining the Genie team in the newly created position of strategic accounts and business development manager for Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Russia (EMEAR). The existing Genie UK & Ireland sales structure remains unchanged.

Reporting to Jacco de Kluijver, Genie vice president of sales and marketing for EMEAR, Terex AWP, Chandler, based in the United Kingdom, is directly responsible for the development of some strategic Genie customer accounts. Working in close collaboration with Matt Skipworth, Genie senior manager service solutions, Terex AWP, Chandler is also responsible for supporting the development of the Genie Service Solutions offering.

“It has always been a pleasure to work with John, and we are very glad to have him back on the team,” said de Kluijver. “His skills and experience go without saying. For Genie, customer service is a top priority. With his level of understanding of the market, our customers’ business challenges, and Genie products and services, I have every confidence that John’s multi-faceted abilities will add value to our customer sales and service offering.”

“I’m delighted to be back,” said Chandler. “Genie is a true global OEM market leader that offers a level of product quality and innovation second to none. I’m also looking forward to rejoining the team and working in an environment where direct contact with customers is valued as the foundation of every business relationship.

“As illustrated by a recent series of strategic acquisitions, today’s European market is highly competitive. As a result, for many rental companies, consolidating their business success in the long-term is a key concern. Furthermore, at a time when safety standards and technology are at a higher level than ever before, skilled technical resources are few and far between. Keeping machines properly maintained and safe to operate is an increasing issue, and it is alarming to see that contrary to what should be expected, standards are slipping.”

As part of his newly created role, Chandler will be supporting Genie Service Solutions. This service offering is designed to help customers rise to today’s market challenges by providing them the ability to manage their fleets more efficiently. “I am absolutely convinced that customers have a lot to gain with GSS,” Chandler added. “Unlike other ‘package’ service solutions, GSS is fully customer-specific. This means that it is oriented to adapt on a regional or depot-to-depot basis, from a group of Genie products, to an entire fleet. In addition to maximizing uptime and offering businesses the ability to plan maintenance costs in advance, GSS offers rental customers the peace of mind they need to focus on their core business. In some cases it can even significantly reduce costs. I’m excited about the perspective of supporting Matt and his team, and I look forward to meeting with customers to discuss how to adapt GSS to work for their specific current and future needs.”
