Bautas, the Norwegian subsidiary of international rental giant Ramirent, recently signed a frame agreement with residential builder Selvaagbygg for its rental equipment needs for construction projects in Norway. Selvaagbygg already outsources its electrification and power equipment to Bautas.
“We see an increasing trend among companies towards outsourcing non-core activities in order to release tied-up capital and improve flexibility,” said Eivind Bøe of Ramirent Norway. “We are very happy to start cooperating also in this way with Selvaagbygg by taking over their electrical equipment.” Bautas will be the main supplier for electrification and power solutions for Selvaagbygg’s projects, an area of focus and expertise for Bautas.
Selvaagbygg is a family-owned company that is one of Norway’s largest residential builders. The company has built more than 50,000 homes in the greater Oslo area.
“By selecting Bautas as our partner we can optimize logistics, maximize the stability of our operations and at the same time secure availability of high-quality equipment and machines at our project sites,” said Jan Erik Solberg, production director for Selvaagbygg. “The fact that Bautas can provide such a wide range of equipment, in combination with their long experience, made us choose Bautas.”
Bautas has 40 rental branches in Norway. Based in Helsinki, Finland, Ramirent has about 340 branches in 13 Nordic, Central and Eastern European countries. Ramirent’s consolidated net sales in 2008 were €730 million.
