Sunbelt Rentals Becomes First Global Equipment Rental Provider of Skydio X10 Drones
Skydio, the leading U.S. drone manufacturer, and Sunbelt Rentals, a leading provider of equipment rental solutions across North America, have entered into an agreement to add the Skydio X10 drone to Sunbelt Rentals’ portfolio. This collaboration, facilitated through Velociti, a premier technology deployment and management solutions provider, marks a significant step in expanding access to autonomous drone technology across multiple industries.
With this agreement, Sunbelt Rentals becomes the first global equipment rental provider to offer Skydio’s NDAA compliant drones as part of its fleet. This enables customers across construction, engineering, infrastructure inspection, energy, emergency response and many other industries to access Skydio’s technology via the Sunbelt Rentals’ nationwide network.
“The X10’s best-in-class AI flight and 360 obstacle avoidance, advanced imaging and sensors, as well as ease of use, make it a perfect addition to our rental portfolio,” said Matt DiDonato, director of fleet product development at Sunbelt Rentals. ”Our customers now have a rental option giving them the freedom to scale drone usage as project demands evolve.”
“We’re excited to team up with Sunbelt Rentals to offer our mutual customers flexibility and choice when it comes to how they access Skydio’s cutting-edge drone technology,” said Callan Carpenter, Skydio’s chief revenue officer, “Sunbelt Rentals’ reputation and reach enable it to serve customers nationwide and across all industries, helping these organizations gain access to Skydio’s products when and where they need it.”
With autonomous flight capabilities and best-in-class obstacle avoidance, Skydio’s X10 drones can safely navigate complex environments to dramatically reduce risk to personnel and minimize service interruptions. By integrating this technology into its rental offerings, Sunbelt Rentals empowers operators to make faster, data-driven decisions and respond more quickly to potential on-site issues — ultimately enhancing worker safety and reducing operational costs, while also maintaining the highest standards of data security and compliance.
Sunbelt Rentals began rolling out Skydio X10 drone rentals throughout the country beginning September 15. Customers interested in availability, training options, or pre-booking can contact their local representative, or visit SunbeltRentals.com.
