The International Powered Access Federation (IPAF) announced Boels Group has joined as a sustaining member, further strengthening its commitment to powered access safety and best practice across the industry.
Following an updated group membership agreement, all powered access operations within the Boels Group – including Boels Rental, Riwal, Cramo, and Manlift – are now formally part of the IPAF membership community.
IPAF Sustaining Membership is designed for organizations that wish to go above and beyond in their support of IPAF’s work. It helps to shape the future of the powered access industry by investing in safety, standards, and training at the global level.
Boels Group is one of Europe’s largest rental companies, with a strong presence across the Benelux region, Central and Northern Europe. Its portfolio of trusted rental brands serves a wide range of industries, from construction and manufacturing to government and event infrastructure.
Riwal continues long-time commitment to IPAF and safety
Riwal, now part of the Boels Group, has long supported IPAF’s mission to improve safety in powered access. For many years, Riwal has actively contributed MEWP accident data to IPAF, helping to raise awareness of industry risks and promote the importance of training and regulation. Now, this commitment extends across the entire Boels Group. All Boels-owned companies will contribute to IPAF’s global Accident Reporting Portal, further strengthening the quality and reach of this vital safety initiative. Also, Boels continues to deliver internationally recognized IPAF training courses through its certified facilities and instructors – recently expanding its offering to include Virtual Reality simulator training for scissor lifts, telescopic boom lifts, and rough-terrain machines.
“Our strength is that our broad knowledge and large network allow us to offer incredibly customer-focused training courses,” said John Smeets, fleet uptime manager of Boels Rental. “This way, we contribute to safer work environments and overall, safer construction sites.”
“This move unifies all Boels Group’s powered access companies under our shared commitment to safety and professionalism,” added Peter Douglas, CEO and managing director of IPAF. “Boels’ scale and influence across Europe make them an important partner in improving industry standards and supporting safe work at height. We’re honored to have you as a sustaining member.”
