CNH Industrial Names Former Manitowoc Executive Mühlhäuser as New CEO
CNH Industrial has named Hubertus Mühlhäuser as CEO, effective Sept. 17. Mühlhäuser will be based at the company’s Burr Ridge, Ill., offices. He brings extensive leadership experience at multinational industrial companies, a deep knowledge of the agriculture and construction sectors as well as strategic expertise. CNH Industrial plans to convene an extraordinary shareholders meeting seeking shareholder approval for the appointment of Mühlhäuser to the company’s board of directors.
Mühlhäuser joins the company from Welbilt Inc., where he was director, president and CEO since 2015. Welbilt, a manufacturer of food service equipment, was part of Manitowoc Foodservice, which separated from Manitowoc Co. in 2016 and renamed, and was involved in the separation. Previously, he worked at AGCO Corp., heading its EMEA and Asia Region businesses as well as its global engine division. He also was senior vice president of strategy and integration for AGCO. Mühlhäuser also served as non-executive chairman of a family business Mühlhäuser Holding Ltd. He began his career at Arthur D. Little Inc. where he was global head of strategy and organization.
“The board is delighted at the appointment of Hubertus Mühlhäuser, given the wealth of international experience he will bring to the role combined with his passion for, and experience in, many of the industries in which we operate,” said Suzanne Heywood, CNH Industrial chairwoman.
CNH has been through management upheaval in recent months, first with the resignation of CEO Richard Tobin in March and the death of chairman Sergio Marchionne last month.
