BrandSafway Acquires Offshore Coatings Provider Waveland Services
Brand Industrial Services, known as BrandSafway, has acquired Waveland Services, a national offshore coatings company for deep-site platforms in the Gulf and on the coast of California, effective today, Oct. 4.
Based in Eunice, La., Waveland is a maintenance-based coatings business holding long-term contracts with most of the large offshore platform owners, including major oil companies with deep-water assets, independent oil companies with shallow-water assets, and pipeline transmission companies. Waveland was founded in 1996 by Ed Caswell, the company’s current president.
“We’re pleased to announce the acquisition of Waveland,” said Dave Witsken, president of energy and industrial for BrandSafway. “Bringing Waveland’s highly specialized knowledge in offshore maintenance coatings to BrandSafway expands our expertise in surface preparation and coatings services in the global offshore market. In addition, Waveland’s offshore customers will benefit from BrandSafway’s experience in coatings and broader range of solutions, including scaffolding, insulation and fireproofing.”
Caswell will continue to manage the company, now known as Waveland, a BrandSafway Co, reporting to Danny Schexnaydre, regional vice president of Louisiana for BrandSafway.
“By leveraging the knowledge, capabilities and reputation of Waveland, we will be able to provide expanded coatings services to BrandSafway’s offshore customers,” said Schexnaydre. “At the same time, with our support, Waveland will now be able to offer its customers a broader inventory of access equipment and additional industrial services.”
