Sunbelt Rentals has acquired Van’s Equipment Co., a two-location rental company in Denver. Van’s has branches in Dacono, in the North Denver area, and Aurora, in South Denver. SDR Ventures, a Denver-based investment banking firm serving private business owners in the lower middle market, served as exclusive sell-side advisor to Van’s Equipment.

Van’s, founded in 2008, grew steadily in the past several years to become one of the top construction equipment rental companies in the Denver Metro area and Northern Colorado. Van’s is ISO-certified and is aligned with a variety of brands, including Hyundai, Yanmar and Genie.

“We’re proud of the quality of equipment and service we’ve been able to provide to Colorado contractors, especially during this period of rapid growth in the region,” said Van’s president Kevin Moore. “The SDR team’s relationship with strategic buyers and a wide range of private equity groups helped create a strong process that led to a successful close with Sunbelt.”

The transaction will help Sunbelt expand its Rocky Mountain presence.

“It was a pleasure to work with Kevin Moore and his management team on this transaction,” said SDR principal Chris Bouck. “Due to Van’s growth and strong market position, we were able to present the company as a very compelling investment to a wide range of potential buyers. But at the end of the day, Sunbelt was the ideal fit. The Van’s team made a great decision, and we’re excited for Kevin, Van’s management and employees and Sunbelt going forward.”
