Engine manufacturer Perkins announced that its new online platform perkins.com/shop is open for business. Targeted at machine owners, rental businesses, repair and engineering shops and mobile service and repair engineers, the online shop will allow U.S. customers of Perkins engines to buy genuine Perkins parts on the Internet.
Perkins.com/shop offers quick access to the most commonly ordered Perkins parts including filters and service kits. The site enables customers to sort by engine series or product category, and search by part name or part number. Each part has a full description and image, allowing customers to be confident they are ordering the correct part.
If a part is not currently available to buy through perkins.com/shop, then end users will be able to register their interest in the product. This request will be passed on to the local Perkins distributor, who will follow up with the customer on their purchase and other service needs..
The online shop is supported by a new Perkins Regional Parts Distribution Center in Elizabethtown, Ky. Parts ordered through the shop will be shipped by air or road, depending on the customer’s preference, directly from the Kentucky parts warehouse.
“We are making significant new investments in our after-market offering, giving end users quick access to genuine Perkins parts, up-to-date information on their engine and service and support from their local Perkins distributor,” said aftermarket director Michael Wright. “The launch of the shop is a key element of our strategy to enhance the service and support millions of Perkins end users already receive from our global network of trained Perkins distributors. We know that many of our customers want to be able to easily order competitively priced genuine Perkins parts online. Following today’s launch of perkins.com/shop, they will be able to obtain their genuine Perkins parts direct from the manufacturer.”
To kick it off, all parts orders placed on the new site in the month of June will be offered free road delivery.
