Aerial work platform manufacturer Haulotte posted consolidated sales of €115 million (about U.S. $130.8 million) in the first quarter, compared to €98.2 million for the first quarter of 2015, a 17-percent increase. Equipment sales jumped 19 percent, largely based on strong hikes in North America (35 percent) and Europe (30 percent).

Sales in the Asia-Pacific region dropped 19 percent, primarily because of the slowdown in the Middle East, Haulotte said. Latin America sales declined 6 percent primarily because of the slowdown in Brazil.

Service and rental activities increased by 5 and 7 percent respectively compared to the first quarter of 2015.

Haulotte, headquartered in L’Horme, France, with U.S. headquarters in Virginia Beach, Va., confirmed its expectation of sales growth close to 5 percent in 2016.
