RHV Capital Acquires Equity Interest in Traffic Control Rental Firms

RHV Capital has acquired a significant equity interest in two traffic control and safety equipment rental specialists, Give ‘Em a Brake Safety and Street Smart Rental.

RHV Capital has acquired a significant equity interest in two traffic control and safety equipment rental specialists, Give ‘Em a Brake Safety and Street Smart Rental. Give ‘Em a Brake serves the Michigan area with locations in Grandville, Marquette, Kingsley and Saginaw, Mich. Street Smart Rental has locations in Lino Lakes, Minn., and Commerce City, Colo.

Joe Kondrup Jr. of Catalyst Strategic Advisors, which served as exclusive transaction advisor to Give ‘Em a Brake and Street Smart Rental, told RER that “RVH will participate in the strategy formulation and provide capital in order to pursue growth initiatives and serve on the company’s board.” Kondrup added that the owners of GEB and SSR “will continue to lead the business and be active in the highway safety industry.”

Both companies have wide-ranging inventories in the traffic control and safety equipment area.

RHV Capital, a private investment company that invests in privately held, lower middle market businesses, is based in Bloomfield Hills, Mich.
