Wynne Systems Parent Volaris Group Acquires Rental Software Provider Unique Business Systems
Volaris Group today announced that it has acquired Unique Business Systems Corp., a provider of rental operations management solutions to the AV and construction sectors. UBS is based in Santa Monica, Calif.
UBS has a rich history of providing AV, construction, and medical equipment rental sectors throughout North America with software solutions for managing sales, labor planning, repairs, and reporting. UBS was founded in 1984 by Pradeep Batra and Stan Sugimoto. They saw early success in the video rental market with the VideoTrace Inventory product. In 1991, they moved UBS into the broader rental market with RentTrace. Throughout the 90’s, UBS improved the technology stack, signed larger customers and expanded the R&D team. In the past 20 years, UBS expanded its enterprise customer base and continues to innovate its solutions and customer experience via new technologies, mobile apps, and industry critical software, especially in the AV space.
Stan Sugimoto, chief operating and co-founder of UBS said: “We are excited about this next step. Now UBS is part of an ecosystem of more than 400 software companies. Joining Volaris Group enables us to grow our business and bring great long-term opportunities for our customers and employees.”
In keeping with Volaris’ philosophy of acquire, strengthen and grow, UBS maintains its brand and independence with support, coaching and best practices from Volaris. Sugimoto has been promoted to general manager and will continue to lead the business. UBS joins Wynne Systems, InTempo, and Baseplan in Volaris’ rental management system vertical market.
