ClearSky

JLG Industries

JLG ClearSky is the first connected-asset system designed for aerial work platforms and the rental industry. ClearSky provides a two-way communication link to the machine control system using satellite and cellular technology to gather information and, with the support of intelligent back-office systems, makes it available 24 hours a day. This system offers significant operational advantages that translate into a lower total cost of ownership for equipment owners and end users. The telematics control unit (TCU) and associated hardware can be factory installed or retrofitted to existing equipment. The data is transmitted over the network to a data center where it is shared with appropriate users and displayed in various systems including customer operating systems. Additional features include on-demand diagnostics and troubleshooting; preventative maintenance alerts based on real-world operating conditions that help reduce unexpected failures; machine maintenance history; operating system integration; geofencing; and GPS location with mapping on various levels (local, regional, national).

Scenario Management Module

Orion Software

Orion Software announces its latest innovation for the Sirius Pro Rental and Inventory Management Software, the Scenario Management Module. Scenario Management allows users to create subsets of products to offer based on specific potential usage required by clients, in the desired order, and grouped into marketing themes. As an example, scenarios could be built based on the type, the size, or the budget of an event. The idea is to bring salespersons into a “scenario” with the customer, so that they present only relevant products to their customers, as well as cover the whole spectrum of projects. This is an advanced tool to help salespersons be more efficient by passing through a complete “questionnaire” linked to the specific end-usage requirements. Users can create as many scenarios as they desire based on venue locations, type of usage, budget, or any factors influencing the sales process.

Dispatch Center Module

Point-of-Rental Systems

Point-of-Rental Systems' Dispatch Center module allows rental stores to schedule pickups and deliveries as “trips” assigned to specific delivery trucks. Each truck-trip combo can have multiple stops routed with turn-by-turn roundtrip directions and maps. It interfaces with Point-of-Rental’s Enterprise software listing each day’s delivery/pickup contracts for one or all stores. Overview maps provide dispatchers the ability to group contracts geographically. Users can add rental contracts to a trip with just a click of the mouse. Maps are displayed using Microsoft’s MapPoint and can be imported into compatible devices. Dispatchers can assign drivers and crew, track fuel consumption and define time parameter for each stop. In addition to the maps and turn-by-turn directions, the Dispatch Center includes reports to help ensure all items are loaded and ultimately picked up.
