Southeastern Crane, based in Jacksonville, Fla., and a division of Ring Power Corp., last month opened a branch in Ladson, S.C., 12 miles west of Charleston. As the Grove distributor for the state, Southeastern established the store to fulfill a requirement as dealer.
“We have targeted the ‘low country’ area for its centralized location on the coast between North Carolina and Georgia, where the greatest growth is taking place,” said Southeastern Crane vice president and general manager Dallas Johnson, who added that the company will lease the facility until a permanent location is determined.
The Ladson branch will be staffed by a salesman, parts manager, secretary and three service technicians. Mike Davis, manager of the Charlotte, N.C., branch will oversee all operations in the two-state Carolinas territory.
Southeastern Crane serves the southeastern United States and the Caribbean basin with branch facilities in Tampa and Pompano Beach, Fla.; Charlotte, N.C.; Charleston, S.C.; and Atlanta. It represents Manitowoc in Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina and the Caribbean; Grove in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina and the Bahamas; Manitex in Florida, Georgia, North and South Carolina; Broderson in North Carolina; and National in Florida. It recently added the Potain self-erecting tower cranes to its mix in Florida and South Carolina.
Ring Power, based in St. Augustine, Fla., is No. 27 on the RER 100.
