Pennsylvania rental company Best Line Equipment has acquired Uniontown Industrial Equipment Co. in Uniontown, Pa. The acquisition gives Best Line 12 locations, with another currently under construction in West Chester, Pa. Uniontown owners, Robert Hess, Mike Clower and Tammy Mauk, have accepted positions with Best Line.

“It will be great for all parties involved, both employees and customers,” said Hess. “Our product offering is going to increase dramatically, which will better satisfy our customers’ needs.”

Hess will serve as branch manager, Clower as sales manager and Mauk as office manager. All Uniontown employees will continue on with the company and Best Line expects to hire four to six more people immediately and an additional two to four in the next six to 12 months.

“Customers can expect to see the same friendly faces they’ve known and trusted for years, with increased parts and service availability, product and equipment offerings and expanded selection,” Adam Houseknecht, general manager of operations at Best Line said. “Anytime a strong local business can become stronger with added services, the entire community benefits.”

Best Line Equipment will supply area businesses, government institutions, and the Utica and Marcellus shale gas industry with equipment rental and emergency after-hours equipment delivery and service.

Best Line Equipment was founded by Michael Houseknecht in 1985. The company is based in State College, Pa., and also has branches in Muncy, Mechanicsburg, Centre Hall, Allentown, Shippensburg, Harrisburg, Hatboro and Towanda.
