Ahern Ibérica officially opened for business last week with a grand opening celebration in Madrid, Spain. Servicing customers in Spain and Portugal, Ahern Ibérica will provide sales, service and spare parts for Snorkel lifts. It is based in a large 2,000-square-meter (21,527 square foot) facility in the south west region of Madrid. The facility has been recently renovated and includes a 700-square-meter (7,534 square foot) warehouse for new machine storage, an 800 square meter (8,611 square foot) workshop for pre-delivery inspections, repairs and rebuilds, as well as dedicated spare parts storage with walk-in parts counter, and exterior yards to the front and rear of the property. The facility also houses a dedicated training and events space, offices, and conference and meeting rooms.
Led by managing director, Enrique García Delgado, Ahern Ibérica employs a team of seven, which includes a customer service representative, sales managers for Northern and Southern Spain, a spare parts coordinator and a technical manager and a service technician.
Taking place the day after the 2019 Premios Elevacion Movicarga (PEM) Awards, where Ahern Ibérica was a gold sponsor, the grand opening event took the form of an open house in the afternoon of Friday September 20. More than 100 customers, suppliers, and industry leaders attended the event, which included tours, machine demonstrations and an official ribbon cutting ceremony and speeches from company executives, including Matthew Elvin, CEO, Snorkel.
“This is an exciting moment for both Ahern and Snorkel, as we officially open our first directly-owned business here in Spain,” said Garcia. “I am incredibly proud of the hard work and dedication our new team has shown in getting this fantastic facility ready for the launch, and I hope today our valued customers can see that we are truly ready to support them.”
“Spain is a key market for Snorkel, and it is with great pleasure that we have officially opened this latest Ahern International branch today,” said Elvin. “We are committed to fully supporting our customers in this region and have invested heavily in ensuring we have new machines, spare parts and technical service available, and a dedicated team ready to deliver world-class service.”
To coincide with the grand opening, Ahern Ibérica launched its dedicated website at www.aherniberica.es, where visitors can browse the entire Snorkel product line, request quotes online and learn more about Ahern Ibérica’s services and capabilities.
