Hitachi

The new DS18DSAL drill driver from Hitachi is powered by a 1.5Ah lithium-ion slide battery that delivers 460 inch/pounds of torque. Compact at 7.7 inches in length, and lightweight at 3.5 pounds, the DS18DSAL is designed to be comfortable enough to use all day without sacrificing the power and performance of a pro-grade 18-volt tool. A variable-speed trigger sets the DS18DSAL from 0 to 350 rpm or 0 to 1,500 rpm to always reach the right speed for the job. The clutch has 22 driving stages and a special model for drilling.

Hilti

The Hilti SFH 18-A CPC hammer drill/driver and the SF 18-A CPC drill/driver are powered by its Cordless Power Care lithium-ion technology. Both tools deliver three speeds, low weight and operator ergonomics. Applications include drilling holes in masonry, stone, wood and metal with a variety of bits, driving screws and lag bolts. Featuring all-metal gearing for smooth transfer of power, the tools deliver up to 25-percent more torque and rpm than competitive models, the company says.

Atlas Copco Construction Equipment

The LS 14 and LS 16 (pictured) hydraulic-powered cut-off saws from Atlas Copco Construction Equipment are designed for cutting through concrete, asphalt, cement, brick and steel. The 14-inch blade on the LS 14 provides a cutting depth of 6.3 inches. These units feature a power-on-demand system that automatically decreases the pack's engine speed when a tool is disengaged, reducing fuel consumption and extending the life of the power pack. The saws' simple direct-drive design provides consistent speed and torque, and reduces maintenance compared with belt-driven saws.

CS Unitec

The hand-held ETN 2001 P diamond core drill from CS Unitec can be used wet or dry. It can be operated hand-held or mounted in a lightweight drill stand. The two-speed gearbox and 15-amp motor provide the optimum rpm to drill holes up to 4 inches in diameter in concrete, reinforced concrete, brick, block and stone. Electronic torque limitation and speed control guarantee constant rpm, even under load. The safety slip clutch prevents jamming and allows hand-held operation. The motor is double insulated and includes an integrated GFCI to prevent electric shock for operator safety.

Metabo

The new WE9-125 Quick 5-inch angle grinder features Metabo's vario constamatic electronic speed stabilization, making it well suited for heavy operating conditions such as grinding, cutting and finishing granite, marble or concrete, as well as grinding and finishing metals. VC electronics constantly monitor the current in the motor, adding voltage as load increases, keeping the tool running at optimum speed. A soft-start feature extends longevity of both the motor windings and gears.

DeWalt

DeWalt launches a new line of heavy-duty XRP hammerdrill/drill/drivers and a new XRP lithium ion drill — all designed with significant performance, durability, run time and ergonomic enhancements. The XRP line includes three 18-volt models, three 14.4-volt models and a 12-volt model. Each hammerdrill/drill/driver has a patented, three-speed transmission that matches each speed to the appropriate application. The speed shifting control is now positioned front to back and has positive detent stops, allowing users to easily shift between various speeds. The new drills now have a two-collar design that enables users to quickly transition among drilling, screwdriving and hammer drilling modes without changing the clutch setting.
