Vermeer

The 27-hp Vermeer SC252 stump cutter includes an operator presence system to further protect the operator. Control handles for travel, swing and raise/lower functions are equipped with sensors that recognize the presence of the operator's hands — if the operator's hands leave the controls for more than half a second, the clutch will automatically disengage. The cutter wheel brake will engage and then “cutting wheel engaged” indicator light will begin flashing. If contact with the handles is resumed within 2 seconds while the cutting wheel indicator light is still flashing, the cutter wheel brake will release and operation may resume. If more than 2 seconds elapse without contact with the controls, the cutter wheel drive switch must be turned off and then returned to the on position to resume operation.

American Honda

The FC600 mid-tine commercial-grade tiller replaces the popular FG500 and F501 mid-tine tillers. Product improvements include simplified operation such as an easier one-touch transport wheel that can be engaged or disengaged with one hand without the use of tools. A new front guard minimizes the potential for damage during transport, functions as an attachment point for tie-downs and acts as a convenient carry handle. A new heavy-duty fender protects the drive-belt cover and increases resistance to rocks and debris while new tine axle seal guards and updated axle seals minimize the likelihood of transmission contamination.

Little Beaver

The hydraulic earth drills from Little Beaver are designed for industrial fencing, landscaping, soil sampling and horizontal boring. By combining higher horsepower engines with the reversibility, reliability and convenience of hydraulic drive, the hydraulic earth drills are well suited for drilling in rocky or heavy clay soils. Extra torque allows them to handle augers to 16 inches in diameter, and can drill depths of up to 30 feet with 12-inch or smaller-diameter augers depending on soil conditions. A forward/reverse lever lets you remove the auger if it gets caught under an obstruction, such as a rock or tree root.

Woods Equipment Co.

The all-new Reverse Rotation Tillers with counter-rotating tines are designed to dig deeper and faster by pulling the tiller into the ground for applications with tough compacted soil. By eliminating the tendency to “walk” over hard ground, typical with forward-rotation tillers, the Reverse Rotation Tiller is designed to dig in to break and turn ground into rich, workable soil. The result is deeper and fluffier seedbeds than standard forward-rotation tillers, the company says. The tillers are equipped with a PTO slip clutch that protects their gearboxes and drive systems from costly repairs, should tines grab tough roots or rocks.
