Danfoss Power Solutions, a global supplier of mobile and industrial hydraulics as well as electric powertrain systems, has launched its next-generation air conditioning hose for liquid lines in agriculture, construction, and commercial vehicle applications. The new EverCool EC005 Type G A/C hose simplifies installation while offering weight reduction and proven reliability.
The new EC005 hose is fully thermoformable, even over long lengths, eliminating the need for compound hose/metal tube combinations. Thermoformed hose assemblies minimize connection points, reducing the number of potential leak paths. They also simplify installation in crowded engine compartments and overcome the challenges associated with complex hose routings.
EC005 hose features the same dual-extruded polyamide inner tube as GH001 Type E hose — a construction that has proven its reliability over many years. This technology, in combination with double O-ring flat crimp fittings, guarantees extremely low permeation. The thermoplastic cover offers the advantages of plastic formability, higher abrasion resistance, improved corrosion resistance, and significant weight reduction, which in turn reduces the vehicle weight and thus fuel consumption. EC005 hose is non-conductive and suitable for all common refrigerants and oils. It is ideal for liquid phases of the refrigerant cycle.
“Our new EC005 hose is a value-oriented solution that does not compromise on performance or reliability,” said Ralf Wilde; fuel, air conditioning, thermoplastic, and specialty hoses product manager – EMEA; Danfoss Power Solutions. “We can now offer the best combination of performance and cost for mobile A/C lines: our new EC005 Type G hose for liquid lines, our GH001 Type E hose for discharge lines, and our EC007 Type C for suction lines.”
EC005 hose meets or exceeds SAE International standards, including SAE J3062, J2064, and J3143. The hose is available in nominal diameters of 8 and 10 millimeters and features a maximum operating pressure of 35 bar (500 psi) and temperature range of -30°C to 125°C (-22°F to 257°F).
