Yanmar Power Solutions Co. Begins Operations
Yanmar Holdings Co. Ltd. announced the start of operations for Yanmar Power Solutions Co. Ltd., a new company formed through the spin-off of the large power products business from Yanmar Power Technology Co. Ltd. This new company will focus on both marine and land-use large engines.
The marine industry is committed to developing and implementing decarbonization-related technologies to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. At Yanmar Power Solutions, the company will leverage its expertise in engine development to advance multi-fuel technology that accommodates various fuels, including hydrogen and methanol.
Formerly a business unit of Yanmar Co. Ltd. until April 2020, Yanmar Power Technology Co., Ltd. has focused on the development, manufacturing, and sales of engines, particularly marine engines, industrial engines, and standby power systems. This spin-off aims to enable more agile operations and faster decision-making by aligning each company’s activities with its specific business goals and market needs. Yanmar Power Solutions will focus on large marine propulsion and auxiliary engines as well as engines for land-use power generation applications while Yanmar Power Technology will focus on industrial engine production, sales and service.
