Volvo Construction Equipment offers the first nine models in its C-Series skid-steer loader line. Rated operating capacities for the five wheeled models range from 2,250 pounds to 3,295 pounds, and gross engine power ranges from 84 to 92 hp. The first four tracked models feature rated operating capacities up to 3,200 pounds and gross engine power up to 92 hp. The new models feature a single loader arm design for improved visibility, safety and enhanced access of a side-entry machine. The C-Series also features a forward-tilting cab and large rear compartment service door for improved service access.

The Terex TSR80 radius lift path skid-steer loader features an 83-hp turbocharged Perkins engine with load-sensing, variable flow hydraulics and a rated operating capacity of 2,250 pounds with 125 inches of lift height and 24 inches of reach. The engine and hydraulic combination on the TSR80 offers 8,700 pounds of tractive effort, giving the wheels improved pushing abilities, allowing them to efficiently perform digging and grading tasks. The TSR80 offers 10.5 inches of ground clearance and a 26-degree rear angle of departure.

The Alpha Series line of skid steers includes nine models from 46 to 90 hp and rated operating capacities ranging from 1,300 to 3,000 pounds. Featuring both radial-lift and vertical-lift models, the Alpha Series also have improved visibility, and 25-percent larger cabs, including a glass surface that provides 360-degree visibility. The new Power Stance chassis design features a longer wheelbase, adding stability to allow operators to lift and haul more material. In addition, more than 70 attachments are available, including hammers, rakes, grapples, pallet forks, brooms, dozer blades and augers, to take on tough construction, landscaping and agricultural jobs.

The new 200 Series skid-steer loaders from New Holland Construction feature the Super Boom vertical lift design for improved forward dump height and reach. The 200 Series is designed to load material to the center of trucks to finish jobs faster. The new self-leveling bucket on the five models with the Super Boom design allows attachments to maintain the present location throughout the lift cycle. For long load and carry operations, the optional Glide Ride is designed to ensure a smooth ride over rough terrain. Engine power ranges from 57 to 84 hp.

JCB adds eight new small-platform models to its New Generation line of skid-steer and compact track loaders. The eight new machines — the 135, 155, 175, 190 and 205 skid steers and the 150T, 190T and 205T compact track loaders — complement JCB's nine large-platform New Generation models previously launched. The 135, 155 and 150T feature radial lift, which offers improved digging geometry for heavy loading applications. The 175, 190, 205, 190T and 205T models offer vertical lift, providing maximum reach at full height. The new models are engineered to provide better serviceability and more spacious cabs.

The Ditch Witch SK650 is equipped with a 31-hp Kubota turbo diesel engine and is designed to direct 20 net hp to the attachment, enabling this small-platform unit to outperform other machines of comparable size, the maker says. The SK650 also features an 8-gallon exterior-mounted fuel tank and an exterior-mounted hydraulic tank for improved capacity and efficiency. Quick-disconnect attachment fittings enable attachments to be changed with the hydraulic system under pressure, which speeds productivity.

The new Cat 272D and 272D XHP skid-steer loaders replace their C Series predecessors and feature the Cat C3.8 Tier 4 interim engine. The electronically controlled engine is designed with a high-pressure common-rail fuel system for operating efficiency and is equipped with the Cat Nox Reduction System and a diesel particulate filter for emissions reduction. Net-horsepower increases for the new D Series models range from 5 to 18 percent and flywheel torque increased from 13 to 27 percent. Larger lift cylinders provide a 19-percent boost in lifting force, compared with C Series models.

As part of its VMLogix line of products, Loftness introduces the Carbide Cutter G3 high-performance mulching head attachment for skid steers. The Carbide Cutter is available with 51-, 61- and 71-inch cutting widths. All models are offered with a variety of carbide-tipped and heat-treated steel teeth to match any job application. The mulching heads operate at 1,700 to 2,150 rpm and feature a four-groove banded belt drive with spring-loaded tensioner. They come standard with a fixed-displacement, piston-style motor that delivers hydraulic power at 97-percent efficiency.

Mustang updates its mid-sized skid-steer loader, which is now known as Model 2056 Series II. Features include a Yanmar interim Tier 4, 68-hp, 180 foot-pound diesel engine and a lifting capacity of 2,050 pounds to a height of 121 inches when equipped with 12.00 tires and optional counterweight. Its tilt-back ROPS and large engine cover exposes internal components for faster and easier maintenance and service, the maker says.

Gehl introduces the all-new model V330 skid loader with a near-vertical lift height of more than 131 inches, an 84-hp Yanmar turbo-diesel engine and a rated operating capacity of 3,300 pounds. Horsepower and torque are enhanced with a high-performance drive train. Equipped with electronic engine control and a foot throttle, the V330 is designed to be operated at partial throttle as the workload allows for lower sound levels and reduced fuel consumption. Extra-large side screens and an optional wide-view front glass door provide visibility to the bucket cutting edge and front work area.

The S450TX is the newest member of the Vermeer mini skid-steer family and is well suited for rental customers, landscapers and general contractors who need a compact machine that can perform various tasks. The S450TX features a 500-pound SAE-rated operating capacity with a 1,430-pound tipping capacity, and a 24.8-hp Kubota diesel engine. Vermeer incorporated a four-pump hydraulic system for improved performance and efficiency when powering attachments. A single, pilot-operated joystick is now integrated into the S450TX platform, which makes the machine easy to maneuver and operate in comparison to manual control systems.

John Deere's 318D (pictured) and 320D skid steers are powered by John Deere PowerTech 2.4-L turbocharged E diesel engines that are IT4 certified with auto-idle. The 318D produces 63 hp at a 2,200 rpm and the 320D produces 68 hp at 2,300 rpm. Both models feature 24-percent larger cab areas than their predecessors and the cab is sealed and pressurized to keep out dust and noise. Other features include fatigue-beating joysticks and more than 100 available Worksite Pro attachments.

The Toro Dingo TX 525 compact utility loader is available in both narrow and wide track models. Powered by a 25-hp Kubota diesel engine for added torque and hydraulic flow in a compact design, these models' auxiliary hydraulics provide power in the toughest soil conditions by pumping 24 hydraulic hp to the attachment. Featuring four, independent hydraulic pumps, the TX 525 delivers 16.9 gpm of flow to each track, 13.8 gpm to the auxiliary and 6 gpm to the loader arm. Both models have a tip capacity of 1,580 pounds.
