Pro Rental, Rockport, Maine, is closing permanently, owner Tom Donegan told the Penobscot Bay Pilot, a local newspaper serving the surrounding area. Donegan told the newspaper he doesn’t plan to retire but is leaving the equipment rental business after 20 years because of COVID-19 and the difficulty of hiring staff.
Donegan has hired Keenan Auction Company, South Portland, Maine, to auction the company’s inventory. Pro Rental, the only rental company in the Camden/Rockport/Rockland area, rented portable generators, pumps, jackhammers, concrete equipment, staging, drywall equipment, fans, skid-steer loaders, mini-excavators, and tractors and attachments.
Pro’s inventory will be listed online for two weeks from Sunday, September 13 through Monday September 28, with an in-person preview Monday, September 21.
