MTA Distributors Launches Redesigned Website

MTA Distributors recently launched its redesigned resource and e-commerce website at www.mtadistributors.com. The new site culminates five months of research and planning to deliver an improved user experience for the rental dealer. MTA also introduced various new features with the site redesign, including product reviews, personalized tool and turn tips, and a favorites list. Every registered user can download personalized PDF files of a growing offering of tool and turn tips. A “tool tip” is a quick overview of the basic operation of a piece of equipment that a rental clerk can give to the customer with the rental product. A “turn tip” is a checklist for the rental counter to use when receiving a piece of equipment back to the showroom floor. In addition, MTA customers can now leave real-time feedback on every product in the company's catalog and read reviews written by other rental dealers across the country.

Terex AWP Introduces Online Service Training

Terex Aerial Work Platforms introduces its online service training that provides technicians with an interactive way to learn about troubleshooting and repairing Genie products. By participating in this online program, technicians can further develop their technical ability and confidence when servicing Genie equipment, the company said. The online service training course begins with a 12-lesson basic electrical theory program. At the end of each lesson, the technician can participate in a quiz to review the information. Technicians who participate will need a computer with Internet access and a registered Genie account. The technician must pass the final exam by at least 80 percent. A printable certificate of training is provided upon successful completion of the course. In the future, Terex AWP will introduce a second course, hydraulic theory, followed by specific product courses, all available online. All online service training will be offered to technicians of Terex AWP dealers free of charge. Terex AWP also continues to offer its online “Train the Trainer” course — an option that allows aerial work platform operators to learn the presentation skills needed to become trainers. The web-based training is especially well-suited for employers who need to train employees in remote locations or those who do not have time to attend a course in a classroom setting.

CNH Capital Launches EquipmentAlley.com

A new international web portal from CNH Capital, www.EquipmentAlley.com, features live bidding on used agricultural and construction equipment. Equipment Alley is a centralized source to find, buy, list and sell used agricultural and construction equipment that goes beyond the borders of nations and brands. The site is open to the general public to view all equipment listings, and to equipment dealers and distributors for online bidding and buying. As site capabilities are added, visitors will also have the opportunity for real-time online bidding. Used equipment from many manufacturers is available. EquipmentAlley.com lists agricultural equipment, construction equipment, commercial lawn and garden equipment, commercial vehicles, commercial trailers, back lot equipment and parts and accessories. The site is designed to be simple and intuitive. Visitors can click on “Hot! Closing Soon” to browse auction listings that will close within three days. “New Listings” displays equipment posted to the site over the past 24 hours. “Category Watch” will search for equipment using buyer criteria and automatically e-mail the results.
