Cooper Equipment Rentals Grows its Pump and Power Division Across Canada

Feb. 8, 2024
Cooper Equipment Rentals has expanded and grown its Pump & Power division, Cooper CEO Doug Dougherty told RER in a recent interview.

Cooper Equipment Rentals has expanded and grown its Pump & Power division, Cooper CEO Doug Dougherty told RER in a recent interview.

“It started as a pump division in Southern Ontario, and last year we expanded to include power,” Dougherty said. “Our General Rental branches still handle pumps up to a certain size, and pipe and same with the generators, but we’ve moved all the bigger stuff into the Pump & Power division and that allowed it to be better at providing not only the power and the pumping but also designing and supplying systems that can do the whole job as opposed to just renting a better generator or better pump. So it’s a much broader and deeper service and it’s done very well. We’ve expanded it beyond southern Ontario to all of Ontario and also Alberta and British Columbia.”

Cooper Pump & Power supports mining operations from dewatering to mineral processing, slurry transfer, water supply/boosting and more; construction projects including water management, dewatering groundwater, lowering water tables, draining storm water and dealing with water-main breaks; municipalities, offering pumping equipment to fix or circumvent the rusting or bursting of old water pipes, diverting or emptying sewage pipes and other municipal projects; environmental restoration, dealing with accidental releases of pollutants that threaten freshwater sources and more. It also supplies pipeline projects for the oil, gas and pipeline industries that encounter water issues, dewatering for pipeline construction that require pumps and accessories that are adaptable to different types of land, environments, laws and more. Cooper provides pump and generator equipment, bulk hose and power cable accessories, configurable pipes, valves and fittings, spill containment solutions, and road ramps.

“We’re very excited and encouraged about the continued growth and performance of this division,” Dougherty added.
