Cummins Updates 900 kVA – 1250 kVA Gensets for Global Markets

Aug. 9, 2023
Among the improvements is a brand-new product offering that now delivers 1250 kVA for global 50 Hz markets, in addition to the existing 1000kva and 1100kva standby-rated products.

Cummins Inc. announced new enhancements and offerings to its generator products between 900 kVA and 1250 kVA.

Among the improvements is a brand-new product offering that now delivers 1250 kVA for global 50 Hz markets, in addition to the existing 1000kva and 1100kva standby-rated products. For 60hz markets around the world, new features have been added to the 900 kW and 1000 kW standby-rated products. All these gensets are based on the durable and KTA38 engine platform.

Designed with flexibility of use, and ease of servicing, features of this range include:

  •  Sleek weatherproof, sound attenuated factory fitted design (enclosed gensets)
  • Four-point chassis lift for ease of deployment and positioning (enclosed gensets)
  • Compact, space and cost saving design (both open and enclosed gensets)
  • Advanced Cummins PowerCommand 3.3 genset controller for paralleling and synchronization with other gensets
  • Up to 100- liter fuel tank for reduced refueling trips (both open and enclosed gensets)
  • New Cummins S-Series alternators for more power density and efficiencies (both open and enclosed gensets)

“As we look at strengthening our presence in our global markets, we’re incredibly proud to build upon our established legacy at these power nodes,” said Scott Strudwick, Cummins director of mission critical power. “With this improved product line, we’re ensuring that our partners will have reliable power faster and virtually anywhere, all while saving them time and money.”

With the enclosed gensets, customers across the world can expect to see a much faster deployment time and, in many cases, reduced overall costs. The purpose-built enclosures save space and time, as customers previously had to use much larger third-party built enclosures, which added to time and costs. These gensets can be directly shipped to the project location, easily positioned, installed, and commissioned in a quicker timeframe. All products include a 500-hour service interval, which translates to reduced maintenance costs.

All products up to 1100 kVA are now available with a Data Center Continuous (DCC) rating, which caters to the needs of regional Data Center operators in the EDGE space and in emerging markets. The products also meet the transient performance requirements of this industry.

“With the enhancements of these generator sets, customers will be able to address their varied power needs no matter their location. From Europe to Africa to the Philippines, these gensets are suited to ensure reliable power without disruption across multiple applications,” Strudwick added.

Backed by more than 100 years of experience, customers that invest in these generator sets are receiving a history of expertise, knowledge, and a network of support users to ensure they are taken care of at each step in their power journey.
