Doosan Infracore Portable Power introduces the Ingersoll Rand L20, a combination light tower and mobile generator that provides two important jobsite needs — power and light. The L20 is designed for mining, oil and gas exploration and various other environments where there is no reliable power source present.

“Traditional light towers only have enough power to run the light source,” says Todd Howe, generator product manager for Doosan Infracore Portable Power. “The L20 has a 20-kw generator that can run the lights plus operate tools with power output up to 63 amps at 240 volts. Without the lights on, the generator can output up to 80 amps at 240 volts.”

The L20's lighting system consists of four, 1,000-watt metal halide lamps mounted to a telescoping mast, featuring 360-degree rotation and extension from 12 to 30 feet. The unit's easy-to-use control system features auto start/stop capability as standard, which allows it to be started and stopped via a wired remote connection. This also allows the L20 to be connected to automatic transfer switches and other devices that can control the unit remotely.

A standard 27-gallon fuel tank provides 69 hours of continuous light source operation or 12.5 hours of runtime at 100 percent load. An optional 50-gallon tank can extend operation of the L20 to 138 hours or lighting of 25 hours at full load. An optional Autolamp system uses solar power to engage the lighting system from dusk till dawn.
