Magnum Products

Magnum Products' MLG line of mobile generators is available in sizes of 8, 15 and 20 kW for single-phase models and 25 kva for three-phase models. The MLG line will improve the ROI by lowering cost of acquisition by 25 to 30 percent, while providing the same rental rates as more expensive generators, according to the company. User-friendly and protective features include multiple, external convenience outlets — each with individual breakers — an externally mounted emergency stop switch, easy access to all service ports, and between 27 and 60 hours of run time on a single fill of diesel. A microprocessor controller is installed on all three-phase models, providing control and monitoring of all engine and generator functions, including auto start and shutdown. All models incorporate automatic shut downs for low oil/high temperature conditions and are protected with a start limit breaker that prevents the unit from starting while under load. In addition to the MLG line, the MMG line of mobile generators is also available for those who require sound levels below 70dB(A) in power ranges from 35 kVA through 425 kVA.

Wacker's new portable generators are offered in eight models ranging from 2,500 to 6,600 watts. The GP line offers a compact design with a new heavy-duty, one-piece frame made from large diameter tubing wraps around all components offering protection. The central lifting eye folds down within the frame to allow for compact storage or stacking of the units. An oversized fuel tank allows for long uninterrupted operation. An auto-idle control with time delay on the larger units automatically reduces the engine to low speed, reducing fuel consumption, noise and wear on the connected electrical loads. The generators offer a central ground fault circuit interrupter on all receptacles including the 240-volt twistlock.

Lincoln Electric

The new Vantage 300 welder/generator from Lincoln Electric features an 1,800-rpm water-cooled, 4-cylinder Kubota diesel engine that delivers 300 amps and 32 volts of DC welding output at 100-percent duty cycle. The unit's standard stainless-steel roof, side panels and engine-access door deliver added protection, durability and corrosion-resistance, while eliminating the need to paint or replace rusting panels. The machine also has convenient service access features, such as a sliding locking engine-access door providing ample space for engine and oil filter work. A battery drawer on the front of the machine and a top-mounted radiator flap allow convenient tool-less access to these systems. A tilt-down control panel for servicing of internal components completes the service access system.

The T45 is Terex' new addition to its line of Super Quiet generators. The T45 generator offers a prime power output of 45 kVA (36 kW) and delivers both single and three-phase outputs. The T45 outputs three-phase power on the distribution side of the unit, and the single-phase convenience receptacles are located on the control panel to allow the operator to run both power sources simultaneously. The Super Quiet line of generators comes standard with a 5-lug distribution board, which puts the ground connection in the distribution panel with the other connections. A recessed plug connector in the control panel allows for easy connection of options, such as block heaters and battery chargers. The T45 is powered by a Tier II compliant, 4-cylinder, 66-hp 4JIT2 Isuzu turbo engine and has a fuel capacity of 64 gallons.

Robin Subaru

The Robin Subaru Silent Series generators — models R1700i, RG3200iS and RG4300iS (pictured) — feature advanced inverter technology to significantly reduce running sound. Robin Subaru inverter generators run the engine at a slower speed for low power use and automatically increase speed as more electrical power is required. Further sound reduction is achieved through the advanced reverse cooling design. All Silent Series generators come with a one-touch control system that allows all engine functions to be controlled with the turn of a dial. Additionally, when the dial is turned to the shutdown position, the control not only shuts off the ignition, but also disengages the fuel supply, preventing fuel leakage during transport.
