Subaru introduces the Hammer-Guard feature to its line of air-cooled 4-cycle overhead cam EX Series engines. The Hammer-Guard is engineered to protect the engine recoil from damage associated with equipment abuse during transport or on the jobsite. It also acts as a muffler, reducing noise levels by 2 dBA.

The U-Sand Mini from Cherryhill Manufacturing is a hand-held sander that uses the same patented multi-head, random orbit technology used in the company's floor sanders. Husqvarna Construction Products introduces a high-speed blade for its K 3000 electric power cutter series. The STE3 blade is designed to decrease air turbulence and high-pitch whistling created by blades spinning at high rpms. The noise-reducing geometry is combined with a vibration-dampening system embedded in the steel core, resulting in smooth cutting with low free spinning noise. Whether used dry or with the K 3000 Wet, the STE3 cuts various construction materials such as brick and concrete.

The LH 40 E hand-held breaker from Atlas Copco Construction Tools can be adjusted to operate with an oil flow of either 7.9 or 10.6 gpm. Hitachi Power Tools introduces the WH18DSAL impact driver to its 18-volt lithium ion compact pro cordless line. It measures less than 7 inches in length and weighs 3.3 pounds. The impact driver can drill into wood, metal and concrete, and delivers a no-load speed up to 2,600 rpm and an impact rate up to 3,200 bpm.
