The Blastrac BMS-220BX ride-on scraper now has an extended battery life, lasting hours longer than similar ride-on scrapers available in the surface preparation industry. It is designed to run two to three hours on one charge, allowing higher productivity and longer run times between charges. It removes a variety of materials from concrete surfaces, including thick coatings such as epoxies and urethanes, adhesives, thin-set mortar and roofing material. It also successfully removes floor coverings such as VCT, carpet, marble, ceramic tile, vinyl, wood flooring, rubber and other materials.

The SL8V2 1.5-hp floor sander uses hook and loop technology for paper attachment without any tools required. It is designed so that users can install even the heaviest grits of 12 and 16 with ease. In addition, the capacitor motor on the SL8V2 runs on low amps.
According to Gordon McLean, a tool technician with T.P. Rental Services in New York City, not one customer has reported a problem or complaint with the SL8V2. “On the contrary, our existing customers are now requesting the SL8V2 sander if it is available.”

Bosch
Bosch introduces the new Power Broker system to its Airsweep 13-gallon wet/dry vacuum. Now users can utilize the Power Broker system to avoid blown circuits and optimize overall performance by allocating the available power between the vacuum and a connected power tool, as necessary. To set the Power Broker system, the user simply subtracts the tool's amp rating (found on the tool data plate) from the supplying circuit's amp rating, 15 or 20 amps. The Power Broker dial is then turned to the difference and the tool and vacuum cleaner are ready to work.

General Equipment Co.
Designed for smaller scale surface preparation projects, General Equipment Co.'s SG12/E single-head surface grinder is powered by a totally enclosed, fan-cooled 1.5-hp electric motor. It features a single rotating disc with a 12-inch-wide working width. It offers a top disc rotation speed of 250 rpm for applications including concrete surface grinding, removing mastics, adhesives, epoxies and urethanes.

The U-Sand is a four-pad sander that uses a patented random orbit technology that enables it to sand without the risks of damaging a floor. The U-Sand is designed to take the place of three machines — a drum sander, edger and buffer. Applications include hard-to-reach areas such as closets and hallways.
Kyle Eastland, a homeowner customer who needed to rent a machine to refinish his hardwood floors, was pleased with the dust-free operation of the U-Sand. “It wasn't until at least a half hour into the sanding that I realized I wasn't even wearing the dust mask,” Eastland said.
