The California Air Resources Board last week issued an executive order to Phoenix-based Emissions Technology permitting the sale of its patented combustion catalyst system for use on all off-road diesel equipment in the state.
The technology is designed to reduce black smoke and help users save in fuel costs, the company said.
“The CARB action has huge implications for our industry,” said Gary Rohman, chair of the San Joaquin District of the Associated General Contractors of California and a principal in Santa Ana, Calif.-based Ecco Equipment Corp. Rohman said the technology will help improve fuel consumption and reduce particulate matter emissions.
