Home Depot plans to open three Atlanta stores this year with 5- to 7-acre landscape supply sections, targeted to satisfying the needs of professional landscapers as well as avid do-it-yourself gardeners. The first of the new-format stores will open in Duluth Aug. 29, followed by outlets in Woodstock and Kennesaw, both on Sept. 12.

Each store will stock a wide selection of products ranging from live goods to chemicals and tools to landscaping materials, with a heated/cooled space of 12,000 square feet, complete with tool rental departments in front of covered greenhouses.

Atlanta-based Home Depot, No. 11 on the RER 100, now has 1,437 stores, with tool rental departments in more than 525 of its outlets.
