Skyjack’s Division Posts 125.7-Percent Revenue Increase in Q2
Linamar Corp., parent company of aerial work platform manufacturer Skyjack, posted a 30.7-percent increase in second-quarter sales, the Guelph, Ontario, Canada-based company said this week. A major part of the increase was posted by the industrial segment, which includes Skyjack, with the segment increasing 125.7 percent from $44.3 million in Q210 to $100 million in this year’s second quarter.
Significant increase in demand resulted from fleet-replacement initiatives primarily from equipment rental companies. The industrial segment also benefited from increases in demand in the agricultural equipment markets serviced by the company’s European Fabrication Division. The industrial segment returned to profitability after nine consecutive quarters of losses. The operating earnings for the segment were $0.5 million in the second quarter, an increase of $3.8 million compared to last year’s second quarter.
