TrafFix Devices Expands Safety Apparel Offering
TrafFix Devices, a leading manufacturer and supplier of traffic control devices and crash attenuation products, has expanded its High-Visibility Safety Apparel offering with flame-resistant vests, shirts, sweatshirts and performance garments for roadway, utility, construction, surveying, industrial and other field crews.
The expanded selection helps employers outfit workers for increased visibility, arc-flash and flash-fire exposure, comfort, mobility and tool and supply retention needs. ANSI/ISEA 107-2020 Type R Class 2 and Class 3 options are available for roadway and occupational work environments. Flame-resistant garments offer an added layer of protection for potential arc-flash and flash-fire hazards, with select options designed to comply with ASTM F1506, NFPA 70E and NFPA 2112. CAT 1, CAT 2 and CAT 4 arc-rated apparel allows organizations to select protection suited to specific workplace hazards and job requirements.
FR garments use durable modacrylic and para-aramid blend fabrics, including breathable Cool Mesh FR material that increases airflow in warm conditions. The FR Cool Mesh will not burn, melt or drip during thermal exposure. Select garments pair a solid modacrylic and para-aramid front with a Cool Mesh back to balance durability and ventilation, while heavy-duty FR and non-FR zipper closures provide added performance in harsh work environments.
The line incorporates 3M Scotchlite flame-resistant reflective material, 3M Scotchlite FR Comfort Trim or 3M Scotchlite Comfort Trim, depending on the garment. Lightweight, segmented and breathable, the Comfort Trim is designed to flex with the wearer, promote airflow and reduce the restrictive feel associated with traditional reflective material. Contrasting trim further enhances conspicuity for improved visibility and safety.
Apparel configurations support the everyday equipment-carrying needs of field personnel. Garments feature a variety of useful pocket configurations including table storage, reinforced load bearing straps, divided and tiered pockets, cargo pockets, phone and radio pockets with mic tabs, and oversized water bottle pockets. Additional features include padded necks for comfort when carrying heavy items.
Be ready for the cold
For cold environments, TrafFix Devices offers a heavy duty FR hooded sweatshirt, as well as non-FR hooded, zip-front fleece sweatshirts. For protection from sun and wind exposure, the company also offers lightweight, long-sleeve hooded T-shirts with UPF 30 or UPF 10 protection. HydroSport and HydroWick materials help manage moisture by wicking it away from the skin and drying quickly.
Available in sizes S through 5XL, the apparel line helps organizations accommodate a broad range of workers. TrafFix Devices also provides specialized custom garment development, including custom pocket configurations for instruments, tools, fall-protection equipment and tool-retention needs. Company logos can be added to garments to reinforce branding, improve team identification and support a unified professional appearance.
TrafFix Devices’ high-visibility safety apparel is made with U.S.-sourced materials from leading suppliers, including 3M, GlenGuard and Westex. The garments are tested and certified to meet applicable safety standards and regulatory requirements for professionals in the construction, utility and transportation industries, the company said.
