Motion Industries, distributor of maintenance, repair and operation replacement parts, and a provider of industrial technology solutions, has begun a joint venture partnership with Tagodi Development Corp., a resource contracting firm that invests in the local Tahitan Nation in northern British Columbia, Canada.

An agreement was recently signed with the objective of delivering economic and operational benefits to the community. The largest focus will be in the mining sector, a major portion of this region’s industrial landscape.

The partnership will:
•    Support mutual goals for “truth and reconciliation,” including economic prosperity.
•    Help build sustainable communities and create economic opportunities, including employment and skill development for the Tahitan people.
•    Foster collaboration with local experts to support mining operations in northern British Columbia.

“My family is very pleased to have entered into a joint venture with Motion,” said Jerry Asp, president of Tagodi Development Corp. and a Tahitan elder. “I believe we will be able to delivery a new level of service to the Tahitan Nation and the mining industry in Tahitan traditional territory.”

“Working with Tagodi, we aim to drive positive economic impact in the mining sector while supporting local development initiatives and honoring the region’s unique cultural heritage,” added Brent Pope, Motion’s senior group vice president, Canada & sales excellence. “We look forward to deepening our community connection.”
