Specialty equipment manufacturer American Event Services announced today that it has purchased a 51,900 square foot manufacturing facility in Danville, Ill., that will provide significant expansion opportunities. The new facility will become the company’s North American headquarters and primary manufacturing facility for HVAC and fluid handling equipment. The building, built in 1995, is located on 13.35 acres.

“One of our greatest strengths is the ability to adapt to the demands of our specialty markets,” said Tony Tauer, CEO of American Event Services. “Our new facility will give us more production flexibility and will boost our design team’s efforts with a new R&D center dedicated to excellence in product development. By acquiring this facility in Danville, we’re able to expand our local employee base and further reinforce our ‘Made in America’ commitment.”

This purchase brings the company’s total manufacturing space to more than 200,000 square feet, with additional outside production and storage space of 150,000 square feet. It plans to consolidate smaller plants in Danville into this single location in time.

“The Danville plant consolidation will facilitate world-class manufacturing right here in central Illinois,” said Larry Foreman, chief operating officer, American Event Services. “We will be better able to apply Lean techniques, such as One Piece Flow, 5S and Visual Controls, to optimize manufacturing throughput with more centralized manufacturing.”

After merging production, the company will operate primarily from two plants in Danville and one in Riverview, Fla.
